Georg Siebert

Georg Siebert, born in Duisburg, played the recorder and clarinet before switching to the oboe at the age of 17. He studied oboe and baroque oboe with Pierre Feit at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and with Omar Zoboli at the Basel Academy of Music. In 1998 he gained his concert diploma in Basel "with honours". Since completing his studies, Georg Siebert has worked as a freelance musician.

Numerous early music ensembles at home and abroad have engaged him for concerts, CD and radio recordings. These include the baroque orchestra "l'arte del mondo" (Werner Ehrhardt), of which he has been principal oboist since 2020, as well as the Karlsruhe Baroque Orchestra, of which he has been a founding member since 1998, the "Helsinki Baroque Orchestra" (A. Häkkinen) and "Orchestra libera classica Tokyo" (H. Suzuki).

He has been teaching modern and historical oboe at the Baden Conservatory in Karlsruhe since 2018 and has held a teaching position for baroque oboe at the Karlsruhe University of Music since 2023.
