The "Karlsruhe Speech" was initiated by Hartmut Höll on the occasion of the Academic Ceremony for the opening of the semester in 2007 and has since become a fine tradition. From the very beginning, the aim was to offer all members of the university a broadening of horizons, to encourage students and teachers to reflect playfully by meeting great personalities of our time. In the year of the 50th anniversary of the Karlsruhe University of Music, the second volume of these remarkable speeches is now available.
