Multimedia Concert and Theater Complex (MUT)
with Wolfgang Rihm Forum and Institute building
MUT and the new campus were inaugurated with a big music festival in spring 2013. The award-winning design of Architekten.3P Feuerstein Rüdenauer & Partner, Stuttgart differentiated shapes based on a sustainable urban planning concept of the campus as landscaped garden. Their achievement made the campus inviting and unique.
MUT consists of two buildings connected by a light-filled foyer, a concert complex and Institute bar. The concert complex includes the Wolfgang Rihm Forum with auditorium of up to 450 seats and large stage with retractable front stage or orchestra pit. A spacious foyer connects the concert hall with two different sized rehearsal stages, MUTprobe 1 and 2. Here teaching and many public events occur. With first-class technical equipment and ideal acoustics, the rooms offer excellent opportunities for all sorts of artistic presentations.
The second part of the building beyond the elongated foyer houses the National Center for Music Journalism and Music Informatics with the Institutes for Music Journalism (Radio / Television / Internet) and Music Informatics and Musicology. The seminar rooms and lecture halls are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, as are the computer studio and recording and broadcasting studios for radio, television and multimedia.
