Nachum Erlich passed away on 15 March 2023 after a short, serious
illness.

Nachum Erlich was born in Jerusalem in 1959. He began violin studies with his father Moshe Erlich, a member of the Jerusalem Symphony Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, and continued with Yair Kless at the Rubin Conservatory in Jerusalem. From 1975-1981 he was a master student at the with Prof. Max Rostal at the Bern Conservatory, where he graduated with an soloist diploma with distinction. In addition to his studies he attended master classes with  Nathan Milstein and Henryk Szeryng, and later studied several times with with Prof. Steven Staryk in Seattle. From 1981-1991 Nachum Erlich taught at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Since Since 1991 he has held a professorship at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe, and in in 2002 he was awarded the title of "Artist in Residence" by the University of Heidelberg University.
